HOW TO MAKE BANANA PANCAKES WITH BISQUICK
Bisquick is a brand of pre-made pancake mix that makes your breakfast a whole lot easier. Simply add your desired wet materials to the mix, and bake like you normally bake a cake.
But with ease of baking comes an overwhelming number of recipes. It becomes challenging to find the perfect recipe for your favorite cakes.
I myself faced the same dilemma. It’s not that easy to find a recipe you like, let alone one that works. That is why I’ve prepared a small guide to teach you how to make banana pancakes with Bisquick. Take a look.
Make Bisquick Mix at Home:
Don’t have a mix? Don’t worry. You can make your own Bisquick mix equivalent with a simple recipe. All you need is:
- All-purpose flour 1 mug.
- Butter or vegetable shortening 1 tablespoon.
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder.
- ¼ teaspoon salt.
Method:
Sift the dry materials into a clean bowl and mix them until combined. Add the butter or vegetable shortening and stir once again.
You can also just dump all the materials into a food processor. Set your food processor to “Pulse” and blend until it has the same texture as cornmeal.
Pour the contents into an airtight container and refrigerate. You can refrigerate your homemade pancake mix for up to 3 months.
Note: Use vegetable shortening.
Simple Bisquick Hotcake Recipe:
Now that you’ve got your materials ready, it’s time to make some delicious pancakes. Here’s a basic recipe to help you get started:
Materials:
- 2 mugs Bisquick mix.
- 3 bananas (mushed).
- 2 eggs.
- 2 tablespoon baking powder.
- 1 mug of milk.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Method:
Measure out the dry materials (Bisquick and baking powder) into a large bowl. Mix it until thoroughly combined.
Then mush the bananas using a spoon or a fork in a smaller bowl. Add in the other wet materials and mix toughly.
Now pour all the wet materials into the larger bowl with the dry materials and stir. Be sure to mush as many lumps and air bubbles as you can with a large spoon.
Before using the frying pot, make sure it’s non-stick. Set your burner to a low or medium-low setting and pour in the batter. Pour in about 1/3 or ¼ of a mug into the pot. Let the pancake bake until the edges seem to become dry and bubbles start to form on the top. Flip and then serve when it’s finally baked.
To keep your pancakes warm, you can use your oven’s safe plate and cover them with foil.
Pecan Banana-Chocolate Pancake Recipe:
For people who absolutely love Pecan nuts, here’s a recipe for you. This recipe combines bananas and chocolate with that of Pecan nuts.
Materials:
- 2 bananas.
- ½ mug chopped Pecans.
- ½ mug semisweet chunks of chocolate.
- 2 mugs Bisquick.
- 2 eggs.
- 1 mug of milk.
Method:
Mush the fruit in a small bowl using a fork. Then mix the Bisquick, milk, and the eggs in a medium-sized bowl. Gradually add the mushed fruit and keep stirring until they are well-combined. Add the chunks of chocolate and Pecan nuts and mix till they are well-distributed.
Spray or dab some baking spray on the skillet or griddle and preheat for a few minutes. The optimal temperature here is medium to medium-low. Pour about ¼ mugs of batter into the pot and keep baking until bubbles start to appear at the top.
Then flip and bake until both sides are golden brown or any other suitable color. For serving, you can either top them with maple syrup, chocolate chips, sliced bananas, or more pecan nuts.
If you’re serving other people, remember to ask them if they have a nut allergy.
Vegan Banana Pancake Recipe:
Tired of every recipe on the net having eggs and milk? Try this vegan banana pancake recipe using Bisquick mix. If you’re using a homemade mix, make sure to use vegetable shortening or any other vegan equivalent to butter.
Materials:
- 2 mugs vegan homemade Bisquick mix.
- 2 teaspoons baking powder.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- 2 tablespoon sugar.
- 1 ½ mug non-dairy milk.
- 2 ripe bananas.
For Special Peanut Butter Syrup:
- ¼ mug of peanut butter.
- ½ mug pancake syrup.
Method:
Add all the dry materials into a large bowl and mix until they’re well-combined. Then add the milk and the mushed fruit into the mixture and keep stirring until the lumps disappear. Alternatively, you can use a simple food processor to get the job done.
You can add more milk if you prefer a thinner pound. Thinner pounds will give you lighter pancakes that aren’t too thick.
Preheat your frying pot or griddle to medium heat and coat it with baking spray or vegan butter.
Now pour in about ¼ mug of pancake batter into the midpoint of the pot. Make sure you swirl the pot around to let the batter spread. Bake until bubbles start to form, then flip and wait for the pancake to acquire a golden brown color.
And you’re done! You can make a special peanut butter syrup to use in place of traditional syrups. Simply mix the pancake syrup and peanut butter together and pour over your pancakes. You can also thin the mixture out using a bit of milk. Or you can use regular maple syrup.
Banana and Strawberry Pancakes
Finally, something for the kids. If your kids have a knack for bananas and strawberries, then why not put them all together! Here’s a simple strawberry pancake recipe.
Materials:
- 2 mugs of Bisquick mix.
- ½ mug chopped strawberries.
- ¼ mug mushed bananas.
- 1 mug of milk.
- 2 eggs.
Method:
Mix together Bisquick, milk, and eggs in a large bowl. Keep on stirring until the lumps start to disappear. Then add the mushed bananas (you can mush them using a fork). You can also add small chopped strawberries to the batter. But make sure they aren’t too thick or bulky. Chop or dice the strawberries before adding to the batter.
Preheat your pot by keeping it on the medium to the medium-low setting for a few minutes. Next, pour out about a quarter of a mug of the batter onto the frying pot. Add the batter from the midpoint of the pot and not from the sides.
Keep baking the pancake until bubbles start to form or the sides start to brown. Then flip, bake the other side, and serve. You can serve with maple syrup, strawberry syrup, sliced bananas, and strawberries. Try using sweet strawberries instead of the sour ones. They’ll add a lot to the taste.
